Exercise Description
Wide-Grip Lat Pulldown is a variation of a traditional pulldown, which works the outer portion of the lats more than traditional pulldown. Using a wide grip also reduces tension on your biceps and forearms, making your lats work even harder to bring the weight down.
Exercise Instructions
-
Step 1
Sit on a bench facing an adjustable cable machine with a high bar. With a straight back, grab the bar in an overhand grip, arms fully extended and spaced about twice shoulder-width apart. -
Step 2
Pull your shoulder blades down and back, bringing the bar towards your chest. Pause and then return to the starting position.
Muscle Groups

Exercise Tips
- Sit up straight with your chest up and your shoulders back.
- Pull the bar to your chest.
