Walking Leg Cradles

Walking Leg Cradles is a dynamic stretching exercise usually used as a warm-up prior to a leg workout. This workout promotes mobility in the hips and provides a stability challenge as you stand on one leg to perform the exercise.

Instructions

  1. Stand tall, legs straight, arms at your sides. Lift one knee and rotate the leg out, so the inner thigh is pointing up.
  2. Grab your leg with both hands and lift it to stretch your glutes. Slowly lower yourself down to repeat on the opposite side to continue forward.

Tips

  • Try not to lift your leg so high that it rounds your lower back at the top of the movement. Stay within your limits of flexibility.
  • Keep your shoulders back and your chest up throughout the exercise.
  • Try to keep the supporting leg as straight as possible.
