Towel-Grip Inverted Row is a bodyweight exercise that strengthens your upper body, specifically targeting the forearms, back, biceps, and shoulder muscles. Using a towel in this exercise increases grip strength.

Instructions

  1. Wrap two towels shoulder-width apart around a barbell on a squat rack. Lie on the floor under the barbell and tuck the ends of the towels together so that your palms are facing each other.
  2. Squeeze your shoulder blades together, pull your elbows back and pull your chest up to the bar. Pause here and then slowly lower your body back to the starting position.

Tips

  • Don't let your hips drop. Keep a straight line from head to heels.
  • Don't use a partial range of motion. Pull your chest up to the bar.
  • Don't let your shoulders move forward. Squeeze your shoulder blades together.
