Medicine Ball Pushup

Medicine Ball Pushup builds upper body strength and core strength and improves cardio. When performed properly, this workout targets muscles in your upper body—such as your pecs and delts—and lower body muscles, such as your glutes and hamstrings.

Instructions

  1. Get into a standard pushup position with a medicine ball under your chest. Place your hands on the medicine ball instead of placing it on the floor, and be sure that your body should form a straight line from ankles to shoulders. This will be your starting position.
  2. After taking the starting position, lower your body until your chest almost touches the ball, making sure to keep your elbows close to your body. Pause here and then return to the starting position.

Tips

  • Keep your core tight throughout the movement.
  • Fully extend your elbows at the top of the pushup.
