Exercise Description

Forward and Backward Leg Swings are great dynamic stretching exercises. This exercise aims to warm up and stretch the hip muscles and the hip joint. This movement helps to increase core stability and balance.

Exercise Instructions

  • Step 1

    Stand with your feet flat on the floor and place your hands on your hips or grab the back of a chair with one hand for balance.
  • Step 2

    Lift one straight leg up and swing it forward and then back in a controlled pendulum fashion. Return to starting position and repeat until the desired number of repetitions.

Exercise Tips

  • Try not to swing your leg too much or too far in front of you. Always keep the swing under control.
  • Try not to strain your lower back as you move your leg back. Keep your core tight to reduce the risk of injury.
