Close-Hands Pushup builds upper body strength. This exercise targets muscle groups like the anterior deltoids in your shoulders, your pectoral chest muscles, and triceps muscles—specifically the triceps brachii.

Instructions

  1. Get on all fours and rest your hands on the floor a little narrower than shoulder-width apart. Your body should form a straight line from ankles to shoulders. Tighten your abs as much as possible and keep them tight throughout the exercise.
  2. Lower your body until your chest almost touches the floor, making sure to keep your elbows close to the sides of your torso. Pause and then return to the starting position.

Tips

  • Keep your back straight throughout the movement.
  • Keep your core tight throughout the movement.
  • Fully extend your elbows at the top of the push-up.
