Depth Jump

A Depth Jump is a lower body exercise that activates lower body muscles, including glutes, hamstrings, and quadriceps. Depth jumps can also increase your explosive strength. With practice, depth jumping can increase your explosive power, improving your reactive strength, jumping ability, and sports performance.

Instructions

  1. Stand in a box at knee height. Jump out of the box and land softly on the ground. In contact with the floor, lower your hips, swing your arms back quickly, then jump into the air. Turn around and go back to the box to return to the starting position.

Tips

  • Make sure you explode as quickly as possible in contact with the ground.
  • Don't let your knees sag inward as you land.
  • Land by bending your knees and dropping onto your heels.
