Exercise Description

Arnold Press is a comprehensive exercise to build shoulder muscles. Unlike other upper body exercises, the movement of an Arnold press activates all three of the deltoid muscles in your shoulder—the posterior, lateral, and anterior deltoids. It increases shoulder stability and targets the inside muscle of the shoulder at the bottom of the lift.

Exercise Instructions

  • Step 1

Start by standing with your feet shoulder-width apart and hold a dumbbell in each hand.
  • Step 2

Position the dumbbells on your shoulders with your palms facing your body and your elbows bent.
  • Step 3

Push your dumbbells up, rotate your palms outward, and fully extend your arms. As you lower your dumbbells back to their original position, rotate your palms inward. Repeat until the set is complete.
