Exercise Description
The Straight Leg Toe Touch is a common stretching exercise that targets the muscles in the back of the leg, including the hamstrings.
Exercise Instructions

Step 1
Lie on your back in a relaxed position with your arms and legs straight. -
Step 2
Raise your legs straight until they are perpendicular to the floor. -
Step 3
Exhale as you reach directly into your toes. -
Step 4
When your abs are fully engaged, and your upper back is off the floor, slowly lower yourself back to the starting position. -
Step 5
Complete the prescribed number of repetitions.

Exercise Tips
- Exhale as if you are blowing out candles on a cake and hold the contraction for a second to improve brain-muscle connection.
- If your lower back is bothering you during this exercise, choose more stretching and rotation-based movements.
- Try not to put your hands behind your head, as this can put a strain on your neck.
