Target Muscles

Instructions

  1. Stand with your shoulder-width apart, hold an unloaded barbell over one shoulder, and grasp the barbell with both hands.
  2. Prepare your core, then rotate your upper body until the bar is pointing directly in front of you. Contract your obliques as you rotate. Return to starting position.

Tips

  • Make each torso rotation intentional, and contract your abs with each rep.
  • Stand straight, and don't let your shoulders slouch.

Alternative Exercises

Side Plank

STRENGTH NO EQUIPMENT

Side Plank works your obliques, the muscles that run along the side of your core. Keeping your obliques strong can make rotating and bending your trunk easier.
