Exercise Description
Band Internal Rotation targets the subscapularis muscle, which is a very important muscle of the rotator cuff. The rotator cuff muscles help to provide stability for the shoulder joint. This exercise can also serve as a great warm-up exercise.
Exercise Instructions
-
Step 1
Attach a resistance band to a stationary object, then stand on one side facing the object. -
Step 2
Hold the band with the hand that is closest to the band, keeping the elbow bent at 90 degrees and close to the body, keeping the resistance band stretched. -
Step 3
Move your hand inside your body to the opposite elbow, holding your working elbow still. When you can't move on, take a break and return to the starting position.
Muscle Groups
Band Internal Rotation targets Delts, Shoulders, Upper Back as seen below.
Exercise Tip
- Do not add extra and unnecessary tension. The goal is to improve your range of motion.
