Dumbbell V Raise

Dumbbell V Raise primarily strengthens the shoulder muscles and works the upper chest. It is an isolation exercise for shoulder flexion that helps you build strength and definition in the front and sides of your shoulders.

Instructions

  1. Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, hands holding a pair of light dumbbells at your sides, palms facing the tops of your thighs.
  2. Lift the dumbbells in front of your chest so your body forms a wide "V". Squeeze the shoulder blades together and hold for a count at the top. Slowly lower the dumbbells to the starting position.

Tips

  • Avoid using momentum to complete the exercise. Focus on slow and controlled movement with each rep.
